The Daily Telegraph voted Shaftesbury nature’s best town to live in due to its wonderful location, fresh air and mild climate. The town is bursting with history but has the added benefit of interesting shops and cafes and a bustling market. To the south it is an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Shaftesbury is an old Saxon town with its shops, cafes and restaurants all within walking distance. It has wonderful views over the surrounding countryside - a designated an area of outstanding natural beauty that's great for walking and flying kites. You can walk directly from the cottage either into town or out into the countryside.
Outside Shaftesbury there are many places of historic and natural importance, and rambling thatched villages with some great foodie pubs. If you are looking for a romantic break, a walking holiday or a family destination, there is plenty to do.
